Two injured dogs – a one eyed battered female and her lame boyfriend - running on the side of a highway is what got Rescue for Life started in 2004. Once you help one, it is very hard to ignore all the others that are waiting to be rescued too.
Rescue for Life was founded in 2004 due to pet overpopulation issues that are abundant in Aboriginal communities across Alberta and also across Canada.
Over the years Rescue for Life has quietly but steadily grown to the group we are presently. At highest capacity we have had approximately 70 animals up for adoption but our comfort level is more around the 40 mark.
We continue to grow with a network of dedicated volunteers and the much appreciated support of the public. We are currently embarking on new spay/neuter projects that will result in more lives being saved.
